Being reunited with my family and learning about my Dad has been one of the main inspirations for me to get back to doing what I love, which is painting and drawing. I think when an event happens in our lives that changes us, having a creative outlet comes in handy, and we become better people as a result of that experience. It's amazing to discover how many of the things I love, like nature and the outdoors, my Dad loved, too.

In each painting I hide a little bit of my Dad somewhere. Maybe he would have liked that, or maybe he would have thought it was silly- but it helps me to stay centered on what inspires me.
